In the mid to late 2000s, an internet subculture was born known as vidding or animated music video (AMV) editing. I was introduced to this hobby by a friend when I was a kid and quickly became enthralled by it. Since my YouTube channel's creation in 2009, I have uploaded just over 500 videos that have been viewed a collective 1.1 million times. At the time of writing this, I have over 3,500 subscribers.

The videos themselves are made by gathering footage from a show or movie and timing
it to music. There's a lot more to it than that of course, but that's the basic formula for an AMV.
The most popular way to edit these videos at the time was using Sony Vegas Pro, and I personally
used Sony Vegas Pro 13. Now, Adobe After Effects is the go-to for most editors.
My love for this art form even led me to write my senior thesis on the legality of AMVs, and now
my desire to pursue motion design!
